How Southern Nevada RPDP Centralized Registration and Saved Hundreds of Hours a Year

For Southern Nevada Regional Professional Development Program (RPDP), registration management once meant piecing together separate programs for every task, creating a lot of unnecessary clerical work. With Learning Stream, RPDP centralized registrations, evaluations, and certificates into one system, giving staff back hours of time and creating a happier experience for teachers and staff alike.

The challenge: a piecemeal, clunky registration process

Southern Nevada Regional Professional Development Program (RPDP) delivers teacher training in all five southern Nevada counties, including Clark County, the fifth largest school district in the United States. Before Learning Stream, RPDP employed a “piecemeal, clunky” registration process, according to Jason Lillebo, RPDP’s computer science coordinator and technology trainer. RPDP used one program here and another program there to cobble together a registration system, which meant a lot of unnecessary clerical work entering and re-entering information for various needs.

The solution: one centralized system with Learning Stream

RPDP moved all its registration management processes to Learning Stream. That included not just registrations, but collecting evaluations, issuing certificates, and giving instructors access to key information. Along with centralizing everything in one place, many basic tasks became automated.

Implementation: training built around RPDP’s needs

Switching to a new registration system can be daunting for anyone, but Jason says the implementation process for Learning Stream put his mind at ease. Training for Learning Stream is different for each customer, with every part of setup and instruction designed around what the customer needs to accomplish with registration management.

“Training was done with the understanding of what our needs were and what would be useful to us. We were taken through different pieces of the system that we wanted to use, and to use them the way we wanted to.”

RPDP’s new registration system was up and running soon after receiving training.

The impact: hundreds of hours saved annually

Jason says the switch to Learning Stream has resulted in a better experience for teachers taking RPDP courses, and for RPDP staff as well. Much of what makes for that happier administrative experience is the time saved. RPDP runs several hundred courses each year, and Jason estimates the move to Learning Stream has saved one to two hours for each of those offerings, time that used to go toward the laborious registration process.

The amount that we pay for Learning Stream pays for itself over and over again in the extra services we can provide.
